Two-Way Voice Monitoring connects you directly to a CastleRock Security central monitoring center operator—without having to use a telephone. When your security system is activated, CastleRock Security receives the signal and one of our highly-trained central monitoring center operators will immediately respond through your security system.
SMS, or Short Message Service, is a technology that enables the sending and receiving of messages to a hand-held cellular device. When a specific alarm event is received by CastleRock’s monitoring center, we can send direct to your cell phone, PDA, etc. a text message showing the time, date and the nature of the event, immediately after it happens.
With SMS you can:
- Receive important alerts through any text messaging device, including cell phones and PDAs (e.g. receive notification when your child has arrived home safely from school)
- Be notified of activity in various areas of your home or business (e.g. when doors have been opened or closed, when the security system has been armed or disarmed, when a safe or liquor cabinet has been opened)*

This feature, required by law in some areas, is a simple and effective way to avoid false burglary alarm fines by attempting a second verification prior to dispatching emergency response. In the event of a burglary alarm signal, a CastleRock central monitoring center operator will contact the monitored location to verify the alarm status. If you have signed-up for Enhanced Call Verification (ECV), CastleRock will attempt a second verification; to the authorized person you have indicated. If there is no answer, or the alarm is not cancelled by someone providing the correct password, then CastleRock will dispatch the appropriate emergency response personnel. Please note that the following conditions must be met before emergency response personnel are dispatched:
- Verification of an alarm signal by the central monitoring center
- No answer or incorrect password provided
- Receipt of a fire or panic/duress alarm signal
Some municipalities require a Private Response Service be dispatched to your home or business to verify that an alarm event requires police involvement.
When an alarm signal is received at CastleRock’s central monitoring center, a Private Responder, sometimes called a Guard Service, is dispatched to investigate. If a true emergency exists, the Private Responder will remain on-site and contacts the police to have an officer dispatched to the scene.
The use of Private Responders, working in conjunction with local police departments, has helped reduce the number of false alarms, has increased the number of trained respondents in a given area, and has allowed the police to focus their resources toward crime prevention and the apprehension of criminals. It also helps you to avoid false alarm fines that certain jurisdictions may impose.
CastleRock Security’s Cellular Communications service helps ensure that your security system notifies the central monitoring center when you need it most—for summoning the police, fire, or other emergency response personnel—without having to rely on a working phone line. Signals are sent to CastleRock Security’s central monitoring center over a secure cellular network—no busy signals or dropped calls.
